Timber framing is where it started for STW, and all our projects have a focus on the lasting beauty of an exposed timber structure. The process behind creating a timber structure can have different starting positions, but the steps leading to 'raising day' follow the same vein. If you have started planning with a timber designer, we can hone the details and apply engineering. If you visit our shop without a designer, we can sit at the desk and begin the process of marrying timber into a project. Either way, you can rely on STW’s experience and industry partners to properly incorporate a timber package into your project.
Every timber frame package coming through our STW shop starts in the office with a sit down. After an initial design discussion with owners and architects, frames are modelled in the 3D world on industry leading software. We review every stick in a structure to ensure we’ve got the right size, wood species and connections. All these parts come back together as shop drawings. The entire package is then engineered.
